Protect Your Mobile PhoneProtect Your Mobile PhoneMobile phones – it seems that everyone has got one, but they still prove irresistible to a thief ! The reason for this is that most are easily sold on as they can be adapted by the insertion of a new sim card. The following advice will help you keep your phone safe – Always keep your phone out of sight when not using it. Try not to attract attention to your phone when you are out in public i.e. by texting long messages. Use the phones locking code if it has one. Keep a record of the phones IMEI number (a unique number assigned to your phone) – if it is stolen and recovered, we can return it to you. Find out your IMEI number by pressing *#06# on your phone, and it will then be displayed. Write your postcode inside the phone underneath the battery – this is another way to help us identify it. Tell us and your service provider as soon as possible if your phone is stolen. If you are leaving your phone in the car, make sure it is hidden out of sight and either switched to silent or off completely. |
