KayakingKayaking in the Highlands of ScotlandThis is a similar sport to canoeing the difference being that the boat is a ‘closed cockpit’ boat in which the paddler sits and uses a double-ended paddle – the canoe paddle has a single end only. As with canoeing it is extremely important that you have a good knowledge of the safety measures to be followed and an informed knowledge of the sport. It is always advisable to have lessons with an experienced instructor at the outset. Equipment and boats are available for hire at Ardenbeg Outdoor Centre, where they specialise in all nature of outdoor activities. There are also opportunities to enjoy kayaking at sea and a further level of expertise is White Water Kayaking! Many businesses listed on this site are Outdoor Activity service providers, offering tuition, guiding, holidays, courses and lessons in many of the activities listed in this section - click here to find out more. |
